The Story.

Craig Moore II has spent the last decade building at the intersection of entrepreneurship, professional development, and community research. He grew up in Wyandotte County, Kansas — and everything he builds is rooted in the belief that the communities most overlooked deserve the most intentional investment.

He started Black Excellence Inc. in 2019 as Black Excellence KC, driven by a recognition that Black professionals and founders in Kansas City needed more than just resources — they needed systems, community, and a framework for sustainable growth. That recognition became the 3S Methodology: Self, Systems, and Sustainability.

Over the past two years of running Ascend cohorts, Craig established a foundational benchmark: Black professionals and entrepreneurs who go through sustained, embedded support programming can achieve 30% household income growth over three years. That benchmark is now the research anchor for the Rooted Before the Storm longitudinal study — BXInc's ongoing effort to measure the relationship between entrepreneurial density, income growth, and community stability.

Today, Craig serves as Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Black Innovation Collective — the digital platform and programming home for Black professionals and founders across Kansas City and beyond. He brings the full Ascend methodology, his DeBruce Foundation certifications, and 10 years of ecosystem experience to every room he walks into.

It rejects the hustle-and-grind model not as a stylistic preference but as a structural argument: breakthroughs don't come from more effort. They emerge when identity, structure, and energy align.
